Oh, I’m so angry.  I finished this whole post and right as I was about to start editing it something happened, it disappeared and here I am at 11:45 p.m. re writing the post.  I hate when that happens.  Especially when what I had to say seemed important at least to me.

I was trying to say something profound.  Something like how our common experiences bond us together and create some sort of metaphysical unity between each human being on this planet.  It was really deep… ha ha.

Now I suppose since the inspiration is gone, you’re going to have to put up with a normal post from me.  Really it was deep, I swear! I had it all planned no actually it just flowed out of me and that’s the best when your writer or at least you want to be a writer and you have those moments when things just seem to work.  Oh well I guess the writing gods did not want me to release this highly sensitive information.  It has now buried itself in my subconscious probably never again to see the light of day.

I guess the best I can do is to promise that someday if it ever comes to surface again I’ll post it here with the footnote to this post where it was originally lost.

Finding things to write about that I think you as my potential readers, might want to read or at least be interested enough to look at the title can be a tough almost full time job.

I often find inspiration from the everyday common things that happen to me. For instance today my wife had taken the day off work and was sick in bed and I went out to service a client. On the way home I stopped and did some grocery shopping since I knew it may be a while before she could go again.

To my surprise, I got home and my wife is unloading the car of groceries. She knew I was busy and we really needed some things so she drug herself out of bed and went to the store.

So here we are both spent about $100 and got some of the same food. We have enough hamburger to feed an army now. I had to freeze some of it. There is no way we could eat it fast enough to use it up. I am 48 years old and have been married for approximately 22 years of my life (cumulative, but that is another story) and that has never happened to me. Now there is a story.

Have you ever thought that you really wanted to do what was right even when no one was looking. Just because it was the right thing to do. Think about that for a minute. No more gaming the system for your benifit. No more doing it just because you think you can get away with it and no one will know. Just tell the truth and do the right thing. What a different way to live.

I want to structure my life so that I can live that way. It is hard, or at least it has been hard for me up to this point. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a cumpulsive lier of a theif or anything like that but sometimes I admit it is just easier to take a shortcut. But I have been thinking a lot about it lately and it just doesn’t feel right to do so. It feels better to do the right thing no matter how tired I am or what it costs or even when no one knows.

Now just so I don’t bring bad bragging karma on myself I have not really been tested with this… I mean there have been no hot Latin ladies throwing themselves at me (my ultimate test) but just a feeling I have been having lately that I wanted to write about.

In the same vein as the last post about the total coolness of the things you can do online and the security measures that are in place I found out something else about PayP*l today that I didn’t know. If i am not careful I may become a PayP*l evangelist but I promise not to give an alter call at the end of each PP sermon… but I digress.

PP has a download that you can get that will allow you to put in your payment info like you shipping address and mailing address and then the really cool part they will generate you a one time use Mastercard number so you can pay for stuff online with your PP account even if the merchant does not take PP. Is that cool or what? So if you have some money that you made selling stuff online and now you have a need to buy some stuff online but they don’t take PP you can still do it. Just place your order like always but then when you get to the payment part PP will generate you a Mastercard number and expiration date and even the code on the back of the imaginary card for you to use one time on that site to place that order.

I don’t know about you but I am jazzed by my new discovery. I think it is time to go shopping…

OMG, it takes a bit to get used to online security! I was doing some unusual business on PayP*l today and I had to jump through a bunch of hoops. First I had to talk to customer service and once we figured out what I was doing with them, they emailed me a form to fill out and sign. Then I had to fax it back as it is part of their security not to accept an email with the document so i could not scan it and attach it to the return email.

So I had to print the email out, fill out the form, scan it into my computer along with a scan of my drivers lic and my social security card. I combined the two scans into one pdf that i could fax with a online service and then send it. In all it took me about 20 minutes after I finished with them on the phone. At first I was a little miffed that it took so much to accomplish all this and then I got to thinking what a great thing it was for me to be setting here in my home and to be able to accomplish all this. I literally could be anywhere in the world right now and get it done. If I were in Spain and needed to do this at my local bank in California, I would be screwed probably but with less time than it would take me to drive to the bank I have done it all from where ever I am. That is fantastic!

I’m a little frustrated right now as my business is going kinda slow but I do think there is a lot of potential for it to take off if I can only figure out some of the technical aspects that are holding me back. You see I have a computer repair business and I am really good at what I do but the problem I have is a marketing one and a time factor.

I don’t really like marketing too much and I would much rather be working on computers, that is where my passion lies. I love to tinker with the parts and figure out what is going on with one that is not quite running right. I also love learning about new stuff too. It seems there is not end to the number of things that are computer related that one in my position can learn about.

I am constantly on the look out for new tricks and tips that I can try out on my customers computers and my own for that matter. I love tweaking it to make it run better and to get it smooth and fast. In fact, I just doubled the memory in my computer. Well not yet but I ordered the memory and it should be here in a week or so and I can hardly wait.

Do you pay attention to domain names? The URL of a web site. If you are like me you probably don’t but i figured there are some out there who will and I figured I better do a little ‘splaining.

My wife had this domain for a long time and, well you can probably guess what on it (duh) and… well things didn’t go very well so after years of owning this domain we have a lot of connections that use our site email to reach us and we really didn’t want to give it up.

That is the first part of the equation. The second part is I have wanted to have a site of my own for a while that i could just write on and express myself so I figured what better place than this even if the url was kinda weird for a personal blog.

There with that said now we can move on and I can start to express my personal self and write stuff that makes me happy.

It has been one incredible day.  To start off with it was my oldest daughter’s birthday actually it’s Sunday but we are celebrating today.  So we started the day with our tradition,  like we always do.  W gathered around her bed and sang happy birthday to her while she woke up.  Then we showered her with gifts not very expensive gifts but gifts nonetheless.  While she happily opened all seven of them in front of us.

From there we had breakfast as a family.  And planned our day around the activities that makes my daughter the happiest.  We left for the park about 10 o’clock.  Where we spent the next three hours going from one swing to another, then to a slide, then to the monkey bars and back to the swings.  It’s amazing what will entertain a seven-year-old on the birthday.

Fortunately my husband had the day off and he got to enjoy this family day too.  Sometimes his job gets in the way of our family activities, because he seems to work an awful lot just to stay even with his job.  You really don’t want to get me started about his job.  Since there’s really not much I have to say that’s very good.

I know it’s a necessary evil at least for us at this time but my dream is to have our own business and for him to be free with me.  So that was our day filled with family fun and enjoying the things that make us happiest.
